Very friendly and really put you at ease! I hadn’t been to a dentist for many years, and so I was incredibly anxious. I thought my teeth were so bad that they’d all need to go as I tend to go through phases of not brushing or looking after them properly. So I made the appointment for a check up and I’m so impressed with how well I was treated by the dentist, and a few weeks later, the hygienist. If you’re nervous about going to the dentist, I’d definitely recommend this clinic as they are very friendly and really put you at ease. Also, my sister works on reception so that helps!

When the Covid lockdowns happened last year, somehow I seemed to lose contact with the practice. So much so, that I was even thinking of going back to my previous practice. Out of the blue, I recently had a letter from them, adding that I was still very much on their books, and would I like to book in for a check-up

This I did, and saw a different dentist today, as Patrick had returned to Sweden with his family. I met Shariar for the first time, and what a great guy, and fantastic dentist he is. He is very much of the old-school, in terms of bedside manner, but on the cutting-edge as far as dentistry goes. Highly recommended, if you can get him. His nurse was also lovely – Irina from Romania and it was also lovely to catch up with Sharon in Reception. Definitely Plymouth’s Go-To dental practice!

Michael and his team are quite simply outstanding. Over the many years Michael has looked after my family’s teeth the quality of care and dentistry has always been exceptional. He was amazing with my children when they were younger. No scary dentist experience for them! In the last lock down I found myself in excruciating pain (I’d missed the regular check-up, hygienist due to the crazy year that was 2020) and needing a root canal. The pain was so debilitating I couldn’t work, sleep, eat. Michael saw me very quickly, got me on antibiotics so that my mouth could heal before completing a root canal. An experience like that reminds you of the value of having a really great dentist. I am so grateful to Michael and his team. I couldn’t recommend them highly enough.

I recently has a Wisdom Tooth removed for the first time which terrorfied me as I don’t like needles and I hate having someone mess with my teeth but Plymouth city dental were really nice and kind and did a professional job and I would happily recommend anyone to go there even students who need a check up.

I thoroughly recommend Plymouth City Centre Dental Practice
I had my first visit to Plymouth City Centre Dental Practice (PCCDP) last week.

Even before I arrived, fixing this appointment had been so easy, and the phone manner was so friendly, yet totally professional. It suits me best to have a back-to-back appointment with the dentist and then the hygienist, and so this was the plan from the start.

I arrived in good time, presumably just at the end of the lunch break, but I was instantly greeted by Michael, who made me feel so welcome, introduced everything and everyone, and I was soon ushered into my hygienist session with Lorraine. This was probably the best scaling and polish I had had in a very long time, and, while, 100% thorough and searching, I felt no discomfort at all. I also met Sammy, who was working with Lorraine today, and she was so lovely, too.

With the hygienist session over, I went straight in to meet my new dentist, Patrik, again for the first time. I felt an instant bond – and I’m not talking cement! – and was so impressed by his expertise, easy-going, friendly manner, and the way that, being my first time, he explained everything thing so comprehensively. I had never really looked at my dental chart, or if I had, didn’t really know much about it, but Patrik went through this, as well as the x-rays he took, as it was my initial examination. Again I’d never seen such x-rays in detail, nor understood what they meant, but now I have a good knowledge of this, too! Patrik then discussed our treatment plan which, fortunately at this juncture, involves a regular check-up and hygienist, and he gave me meaningful advice on how to ensure that I don’t find myself having to have additional treatment, if it can be avoided. His dental nurse, Kirstie, was also charming, and for me the transition from my previous dentist, Alex, who left my previous practice and in fact now works at PCCDP, but now concentrates on the high-end like implants, rather then general dentistry, was seamless. I was particularly impressed that Patrik made a few general notes about me as a person (I don’t think he included ‘moaner-from-hell!’) and this is really important in building a good patient-health professional relationship.

Receptionist / Nurse Sharon was also most welcoming and efficient, and has time for you, both in the practice, and on the phone. As a private practice in the city centre, I felt that the prices were not excessive at all, and, because a number of the staff are Swedish, and obviously good friends, there was a really ‘family-feel to the practice, though at the same time with all the latest technology and expertise.

When I think of my previous practice, which now is under the BUPA banner, the difference is like chalk and cheese on every single count.

I haven’t, of course, had any treatment as such, but if my first experience is anything to go by, then this, too, will be of the highest quality, and given in a caring, friendly and welcoming environment.

I thoroughly recommend Plymouth City Centre Dental Practice, and am so glad now to have left my previous practice.

Traditionally we all tend not to ‘enjoy’ having to go to the dentist, but in the case of PCCDP this simply doesn’t apply.

I have had to visit the last 3 weeks for some work to be done by Patrick. And I’m very happy with the way I have been treated. I was made to feel welcome and comfortable. The nurses are very friendly and make conversation with you. Patrick explained everything he was doing and was very professional. I gained trust in him very quickly even though ide Never met him before. The practice is very hygienic and clean which im very impressed by. And even though I wanted something which Patrick didn’t advise he took my opinion into account and didn’t patronise me. I would recommend this practise to anyone. Especially those who are nervous. No stuffy waiting rooms overcrowded with people. My dentist Patrick was fantastic introducing himself and his team to me. He was caring and very attentive. I had an hour in the practice as I had to have a number of things done but I didn’t feel rushed once and I could tell Patrick really does love his profession and genuinely cared about my teeth. He took photos and X-rays of my teeth to show me what they looked like, gave me a scale and polish and then talked me through the after care.
