3M ESPE MDI implants are very small, biocompatible titanium alloy implant screws which are placed into the bone in a minimally invasive procedure. Immediate loading is usually possible in the mandible. The head of the implant screw is shaped like a ball, and the retaining fixture, which contains a rubber O-Ring, acts like a socket. The O-Ring snaps over the ball when the denture is seated and holds the denture at a pre-determined level of force. If the denture is seated correctly, it rests gently on the gum tissue of the patient. The retaining fixtures offer vertical flexibility and withstand natural lifting forces.
The success of MDI is based on years of clinical investigation and is capable of becoming the system of choice for your patient with dentures as well.
